FBC 'No Strings'

 

What is ‘No Strings’ all about?

We live in a society where nothing is free.  Often, when we read the ‘small print’ we realise that the terms and conditions outweigh the advertised benefits.  No Strings is an initiative designed to demonstrate the true nature of God.  God loves each of us equally and unconditionally.  None of us deserves this love, nor can anyone earn it.  It is given freely to us all.

 

No Strings aims to demonstrate this love in simple practical ways.  We believe that Christianity should not be confined to Sundays or restricted to within the church building.  God intended for His love to reach out into the local community indiscriminately.

 

Fishponds Baptist Church started doing No Strings events in June 2004.  The idea is to perform acts of service or give-away things absolutely free.  We expect no return and do not even accept donations at No Strings events.  

 

Events have been varied and have included the following:

Collecting litter  

Ice-Pop & coffee give-away on the cycle track 

Washing cars for residents close to the church 

Candy Cane give-away to shoppers

Out-door carol service with free mince pies

Easter egg give-away to shoppers

Fun Day in Fishponds Park, with BBQ, bands, bouncy castle
