Youth on Tour

Youth Weekend Away (school years 6 to 13) January

Each year the young people go away together in January to be 'Church away from Church'. For the last four years we have stayed at Woodcroft Christian Centre in Chepstow. We spend time together playing games, cooking, eating, studying God's word and trying to work out what it is He has in store for us over the coming year.  We have a movie night, a massive bonfire, loads of marshmallows and we have even been known to play 'man hunt' during the twilight hours.  These weekends are the highlight of most of the young people's year here at FBC,  spending time away from home, usually not getting much sleep, hanging out with mates and making new friends. It's like Church on tour.

Spree (School year 5+) July

This is a camping and activity weekend for young people aged from 8 to 15 years. The site is a beautiful country park in Crediton, Devon with plenty of space, an open-air amphitheatre, woodland and a lake. In addition to the age-appropriate Bible-based sessions, throughout the weekend there are 5-a-side football competitions, archery, canoeing, raft building, music workshops, dance work shops, opportunities to be creative, food vans, concerts, bouncy castles/slides and other inflatables.  Spree provides a good mix of fun, excitement and spiritual challenge to every young person who attends. Through the wide range of activities arranged the hope is that all will discover more about themselves, more about living and working with others, more about God and more about being a disciple of Jesus wherever they are in their faith journey.
